Data Services

Washington state’s Data Services portfolio plays a key role in advancing a connected, data-informed Washington where agencies and communities can leverage high-quality, trusted data to improve decision making, enhance services, and deliver better outcomes. To achieve this, we offer a cohesive ecosystem of enterprise data platforms and shared services that help agencies publish, access, validate, analyze and securely share data. These services are built to support not only transparency and compliance, but also to stimulate meaningful data collaboration across agencies and programs—empowering users to solve problems with shared data, seeing the big picture, and building trust through data transparency and stewardship.

Whether an agency is sharing a public dataset, mapping service areas, validating addresses, or securely analyzing sensitive data, WaTech’s Data Services provide the infrastructure, tools and support to make it happen. This shared foundation helps agencies reduce duplication, improve efficiency and accelerate impact. The ecosystem currently includes the following core platforms and services:

  • Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) – Secure, governed environment for cross-agency analytics or other forms of data collaborations
  • Data Platform-as-a-Service (DPaaS) – Cloud-based environments with customizable controls for individual agency workloads
  • Geoportals (public –geo.wa.gov– and secure) – Platforms for publishing geospatial data, maps and stories
  • Open Data Portal (data.wa.gov) – Statewide hub for sharing non-spatial, public datasets and dashboards.
  • WAMAS (Washington Managed Addressing Services) – Centralized service for validating, enriching and standardizing address data

These data services are operated by the Open Data, Geospatial Data and the Enterprise Data programs.
